Goals for RCSS AIG Program

Goals of the RCSS Academically and Intellectually Gifted Program

1. To promote student achievement by providing educational alternatives that offer relevant and rigorous opportunities designed to appropriately differentiate the core curriculum and prepare advanced learners for an ever-changing society.

2. To identify students, including those from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, who demonstrate outstanding abilities and/or achievement through the use of varied assessments and multiple criteria.

3. To improve communication and enhance collaboration among educators, administrators, parents and community in order to promote a clear understanding of gifted education.

4. To provide ongoing professional learning opportunities in gifted education.

5. To continuously review the AIG Program, assessing strengths and identifying needs for improvement.
